Description

Common St John’s Wort (Hypericum perforatum) is a hardy perennial that produces masses of bright yellow, star-shaped flowers throughout summer. The petals often show tiny translucent dots when held to the light, giving the plant its name. It grows in meadows, grasslands, and roadside verges, thriving in sunny, well-drained soils. Long valued for its traditional medicinal uses, Hypericum perforatum also supports pollinators and adds cheerful colour to natural planting schemes.
