Description

Globeflower (Trollius europaeus) is a distinctive native perennial wildflower that produces rounded, golden-yellow flowers from May to July. Its unique globe-shaped blooms brighten damp meadows, marshes, and natural planting schemes while adding strong visual interest.

This species grows best in consistently moist, fertile soils and prefers full sun or partial shade. It naturally occurs in damp grasslands, fens, upland meadows, and woodland clearings across the UK. Therefore, it is an excellent choice for wetland restoration, habitat creation, and conservation planting.

The vibrant flowers attract bees, hoverflies, and other pollinating insects throughout the flowering season. In addition, the lush foliage provides valuable cover for invertebrates in damp habitats. Its upright growth also blends well with other native wetland species, creating diverse and resilient plant communities.
