Description

Primrose (Primula vulgaris) is a hardy perennial that can flower as early as December in mild years, continuing through spring until May. It grows in woodland clearings, hedgerows, grasslands and occasionally in gardens across the UK. The plant produces pale yellow flowers that attract early pollinators. While its leaves serve as a food source for the caterpillars of the rare Duke of Burgundy butterfly. Primula vulgaris adds early-season colour and ecological value to a variety of habitats.
