Description

Meadow Buttercup (Ranunculus acris) is a colourful native perennial wildflower that produces bright golden-yellow flowers from May to July. Its cheerful blooms bring vibrant colour to wildflower meadows, grasslands, and natural planting schemes throughout early summer.

This species thrives in moist, well-drained soils and grows best in full sun or partial shade. It naturally occurs in hay meadows, pastures, roadside verges, and open grasslands across the UK. As a result, it is an excellent choice for habitat restoration, meadow creation, and conservation projects.

The nectar-rich flowers attract bees, hoverflies, butterflies, and other pollinating insects. Additionally, the plant supports a wide range of invertebrates, helping to increase biodiversity. Its upright growth also adds height and seasonal interest to species-rich meadows.

Warning: This plant is toxic if consumed and should not be eaten by people or animals.
