Hemp Agrimony (Eupatorium cannabinum) plug plants

Robust, downy plant, Hemp Agrimony (Eupatorium cannabinum) is one of the larger late-summer plants in many areas. It favours damper ground, and so is common in wet woodlands, marshes and damp hedgerows, although it can also be found in drier places such as shingle beaches and on limestone rocks. It is present throughout the UK and Ireland, although is largely confined to coastal areas in Scotland.

In old European folklore, people frequently turned to this tall wetland plant during times of seasonal illness. Traditional healers utilized it primarily as a natural fever remedy. Specifically, they relied on its ability to induce sweating to help break persistent chills. Moreover, communities treated the herb as a rustic immune stimulant during outbreaks of influenza. Occasionally, old practitioners administered much stronger doses. In these cases, they used the plant to act as a detoxifying purgative and a mild laxative.
