Dogs Mercury (Mercurialis perennis) is a shade-tolerant perennial herb commonly found in deciduous woodlands and hedgerows across the UK. It has glossy, dark green leaves and produces small, inconspicuous greenish flowers in early spring. Often forming dense carpets on the woodland floor, Mercurialis perennis plays an important role in woodland ecosystems but is toxic if ingested.
