Watercress (Nasturtium officinale) is a fast-growing, semi-aquatic perennial with dark green, pinnate leaves and clusters of small white flowers that bloom from spring to summer. It thrives in wet, sunny habitats such as streams, ponds, and ditches. Nasturtium officinale is edible, offering a peppery flavour for salads and culinary dishes, while also providing habitat and food for aquatic insects. Its lush foliage adds greenery and ecological value to naturalistic and freshwater plantings.
