Rigid Hornwort (Ceratophyllum demersum) is a fully submerged aquatic plant that grows up to 1–3 m in length. Its dark green, needle-like leaves form dense, feathery whorls along the stems, providing excellent underwater cover for wildlife. Blooming from May to July, it produces small, inconspicuous flowers. This hardy species thrives in ponds, lakes, and slow-moving waters, helping to oxygenate and clarify aquatic habitats.
