Ribbed Melilot (Melilotus officinalis) is a biennial species with small yellow flowers, close to the clover family. It is found largely in lowland areas, being more common in central and southern England, with patchy distributions further north, and confined to coastal areas in Wales and Ireland. Melilotus officinalis occurs widely on roadsides, field-borders and grassy banks.
