Description
Lesser Burdock (Arctium minus) is a robust biennial with large, downy leaves. It produces thistle-like purple-pink flowers that attract bees. After flowering, the blooms form burr-like fruiting heads that cling to fur and clothing, helping the plant spread. Arctium minus grows in grasslands, woodland edges, hedgerows, and disturbed ground across the UK, adding height, texture, and ecological value to these habitats.
