Description

Harebell (Campanula rotundifolia) is a delicate native perennial wildflower that produces elegant, nodding blue bell-shaped flowers from June to September. Its slender stems sway gently in the breeze, bringing movement and colour to wildflower meadows, grasslands, and natural landscapes.

Harebell grows well in dry, well-drained soils and prefers a sunny position, although it also tolerates light shade. It naturally occurs on heaths, coastal cliffs, limestone grasslands, and open hillsides throughout the UK. Therefore, it is an excellent choice for meadow restoration, conservation planting, and biodiversity projects.

Its nectar-rich flowers provide a valuable food source for bees, butterflies, and other pollinating insects during the summer months. Meanwhile, its compact growth allows it to establish among lower-growing wildflowers without dominating the planting. This makes Harebell ideal for creating diverse, species-rich habitats with long-lasting seasonal interest.
