Description

Sheep’s Sorrel (Rumex acetosella) is a low-growing perennial herb, smaller and more delicate than its close relative, Rumex acetosella. Found widely across the UK and Ireland, it thrives in dry, acidic soils, particularly in heathlands, sandy grasslands, rocky slopes, and coastal dunes. In summer, its reddish flowering stems create striking patches of colour across the landscape. This hardy plant is also ecologically important, serving as a key food source for the caterpillars of the Small Copper butterfly and supporting a variety of other pollinators in wild habitats.

Our Sheep’s Sorrel plug plants for sale are priced per plant. This product has a minimum quantity of 10 plug plants. For orders over 500 plug plants please contact us.

All our plants are native British wildflowers grown in Peat-free compost in our sustainable nursery.
