Starwort (Callitriche stagnalis) is a delicate, low growing perennial with slender stems and small, bright white flowers that bloom from spring to early summer. Reaching 10-30 cm in height, it forms a soft, spreading groundcover in ponds, ditches, and damp meadows. The plant thrives in shallow, still, or slow moving water and provides habitat for aquatic insects and invertebrates. Callitriche stagnalis adds subtle beauty and ecological value to naturalistic gardens and wetland plantings.
