Ribwort plantain (Plantago lanceolata) is found across a wide range of habitats, such as meadows, upland grasslands, rocky ledges, sand dunes and cliffs, as well as gardens and roadsides. The spear-shaped flower heads are distinctive, and provide a good source of food for birds in the winter. Throughout the year, it is a good attractant of small butterflies, moths and hoverflies.
