Description

Meadow Crane’s-Bill (Geranium pratense) is a beautiful native perennial wildflower that produces large violet-blue flowers from June to August. Its deeply divided foliage and upright growth bring lasting colour and structure to wildflower meadows, grasslands, and natural planting schemes.

This species thrives in fertile, well-drained soils and grows best in full sun or partial shade. It naturally occurs in hay meadows, roadside verges, riverbanks, and woodland edges across the UK. As a result, it is an excellent choice for habitat restoration, meadow creation, and conservation projects.

The nectar-rich flowers attract bees, butterflies, hoverflies, and other pollinating insects throughout the summer. Additionally, its long flowering period provides a reliable food source for wildlife. The attractive foliage also adds texture and interest before and after flowering.
