Quaking Grass (Briza media) is a graceful perennial found in meadows and grasslands across the UK. It forms neat tussocks of fine, green leaves, while slender stems rise in early to midsummer, topped with nodding, heart-shaped spikelets that tremble in the breeze. This delicate movement gives the plant its distinctive charm. A classic wildflower meadow grass, Briza media adds texture and rhythm to naturalistic planting and supports a variety of insects, including bees and hoverflies, enhancing the biodiversity of grassland habitats.
