Description

Orpine (Hylotelephium telephium) is a robust native perennial wildflower that produces dense clusters of rosy-pink to deep pink flowers from July to September. Its fleshy blue-green leaves and upright stems add colour, texture, and structure to grasslands, rocky habitats and natural planting schemes.

This species thrives in dry, well-drained soils and grows best in full sun or partial shade. It naturally occurs on limestone outcrops, rocky slopes, sea cliffs, and open woodland edges across the UK. Consequently, it is an excellent choice for habitat restoration, coastal planting, and conservation projects.

The nectar-rich flowers attract bees, butterflies, hoverflies, and other pollinating insects throughout late summer. In addition, the long flowering period provides an important food source when many earlier wildflowers have finished blooming. Its succulent foliage also offers year-round interest and tolerates periods of drought once established.

Our Orpine plug plants for sale are priced per plant. This product has a minimum quantity of 10 plug plants. For orders over 500 plug plants please contact us.

All our plants are native British wildflowers grown in Peat-free compost in our sustainable nursery.
