Description

Marsh Valerian (Valeriana dioica) is a graceful native perennial wildflower that produces clusters of soft pink to pale lilac flowers from April to June. Its early blooms add colour and biodiversity to wetlands, damp grasslands, and natural planting schemes.

This species thrives in consistently moist, nutrient-rich soils and grows best in full sun or partial shade. It naturally occurs in fens, marshes, wet meadows, and flushes across the UK. As a result, it is an excellent choice for wetland restoration, habitat creation, and conservation projects.

The nectar-rich flowers attract bees, hoverflies, and other early-season pollinating insects. Additionally, the dense foliage provides shelter for a variety of invertebrates. Its early flowering period also helps support wildlife before many other wetland species come into bloom.

Our Marsh Valerian plants for sale are priced per plant. For orders over 500 plants please contact us.
