Description

Nettle-leaved Bellflower (Campanula trachelium) is a striking native perennial wildflower that produces large violet-blue, bell-shaped flowers from July to September. It adds height, colour, and texture to wildflower meadows, woodland edges, and natural planting schemes.

This species thrives in well-drained soils and grows best in full sun or partial shade. It naturally occurs in woodlands, hedgerows, roadside verges, and species-rich grasslands across the UK. As a result, it is well suited to habitat restoration and conservation projects.

The nectar-rich flowers attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinating insects throughout the summer. Additionally, the upright stems provide structure amongst lower-growing native wildflowers. Its long flowering season also helps support biodiversity when many other species begin to fade.
