Basil Crimson King (Ocimum basilicum) Herb

Basil Crimson King (Ocimum basilicum) forms an upright, bushy plant with deep purple, glossy leaves. This tender annual grows to around 40 centimetres tall. Young foliage emerges quickly in warm conditions with a rich leaf colour that holds well throughout the year. Small pink to pale purple flowers appear if allowed to develop. The plant prefers sunny areas and well drained fertile soil to help encourage strong growth. This variety adds striking contrast to beds, containers, and ornamental planting schemes.
