Description

Ramsons or Wild garlic (Allium ursinum) is found in woodlands across the UK, often in damp areas such as next to rivers and in damp hedge-banks. Some areas have seen a decline in numbers due to woodland clearance. The plant has a distinct garlic smell when the leaves are crushed and its leaves can be used for cooking.

Our Wild garlic are true native plants grown from seed collected from our native woodlands. The rhizomes are brought on in our nursery and we have a planting out area for these plants. We are able to provide site locations of the sourced stock if required. The rhizomes need to be planted between September and the end of November.

Please note that some rhizomes, when planted in autumn, many not always flower the next spring, but instead come up as green leaves. If they miss one year, they will flower the following year.

Price quoted per individual rhizomes. This product has a minimum quantity of 20 rhizomes. For orders over 2000 Wild garlic rhizomes please contact us as we can arrange a bespoke quotation. The rhizomes will be sent out as soon as they are ready.

All our plants are native British wildflowers grown from wild seed in our sustainable peat free nursery.
