Our Neutral Hay Meadow (Brish Wild) 100% Seed Mix is a UK native mix designed for neutral soils in meadows, field margins, and open grassland. This mix provides 100% native wildflower seed (no native grasses in the mix). The seed has been harvested from wild sites and the mix blended from a number of sites. This mix establishes well on moderately fertile ground under low-input management. Once established, this mix supports pollinators and a wide range of insects. It also provides habitat for birds and small mammals while adding steady seasonal colour and structure.
Our seed mix contains the following wildflowers (Forbs):
Autumn hawkbit – 4%
Betony – 4%
Bird’s-foot Trefoil – 3%
Black knapweed – 12.5%
Common Cat’s Ear – 5%
Common Sorrel – 2.5%
Meadow buttercup – 10%
Meadow crane’s-bill – 12.5%
Meadow vetchling – 3%
Oxeye daisy – 5%
Red clover – 10%
Ribwort plantain – 2.5%
Rough hawkbit – 10%
Selfheal – 2.5%
Tufted Vetch – 4%
White clover – 1%
Yarrow – 5%
Yellow rattle – 3%
All our seeds are true UK native wildflowers, harvested from sites across the country many within Cumbria and some from our own meadows. We also work with Wildlife Organisations and collect wild seed from their Nature Reserves and other wildlife sites under a DEFRA permit.
By choosing our products, you support British growers and suppliers who work closely with local farmers and businesses. Please, be aware that some online sellers import non-native plants and seeds. While these may be cheaper, they are not true UK natives and may not suit our environment.
This product is priced per unit (1 gram of seed), and we have a minimum order of 10 units (10 grams) for this seed mix. For orders over 10,000g (10Kg) please contact us for special rates.
