Description

Madder (Rubia peregina) is a fast-growing herbaceous perennial with sprawling stems and lance-shaped, dark green leaves. From June to July, it produces clusters of small, star-shaped yellowish flowers that attract pollinators. The plant thrives in well-drained soils and sunny locations, making it suitable for meadows, borders, and naturalistic plantings. Rubia peregina also has historical significance as a source of natural red dye, adding both ecological and cultural interest.
