Description

Lesser Spearwort (Ranunculus flammula) has distinctive scrambling stems with a red tinge that can root at the leaf junctions. Its shiny, pale yellow flowers can reach 20–30 mm across. The plant grows in marshes, ponds, bogs, water margins, and damp meadows throughout the UK. Ranunculus flammula provides nectar for insects and adds vibrant colour and texture to wetland habitats.
